Dr. Le Thanh Luu

Director

Experience:Ecology of fish, Aquatic Resources management, Education and training in fish culture and aquatic resources, fish nutrition, Aquatic in brackish water and freshwater sectors, integrated farming system, aquaculture extension.

Degrees: B.Sc. University of Fisheries, Astrakhan, USSR (former); PhD. University of Iaroslav, USSR (former); College of Foreign Languages, Ha Noi; School of Fisheries, University of Washington, USA Fishing Nutrition Certificate 

Brief introduction:

Dr. Le Thanh Luu is a former director of Research Institute for Aquaculture No 1 (RIA – 1) with rich experience in techniques and management. He possesses valuable knowledge about aquatic resources, fish culture, fish nutrition, farming systems and aquaculture extension. His publications spreading over different aspects in fisheries and aquaculture have been published in various journals and proceedings. In addition, Dr. Luu has experiences in managing large – scale projects since he hold many important positions like Vice National Project Director of NORAD, Country Manager of AIT Aquaculure and Aquatic Resources Management Programme, Coordinator of ACIAR project, etc. Dr. Luu is also a very active worker in the sector of fisheries and aquaculture. He actively joined Governing Council of NACA as a members. In this February of 2012, after retiring from Director of RIA – 1, he will hold the position of Director of ICAFIS and continue to move ICAFIS towards its set missions.

Mai Thanh Chung

Aquaculture Program Officer

Experience: aquatics products processing technology, animal nutrition, and quality control.

Degrees: B.Sc. (2009, Nha Trang, VietNam), M.Sc. (2010, Ho Chi Minh city, Viet Nam)

Brief introduction:

Chung is a younger technician with 2 year working experience on aquatic products processing technology and animal nutrition. Chung has passion on aquaculture sector. Young, dynamic with learning spirit, Chung is now aquaculture program officer at ICAFIS, working on several field of aquaculture as communication system, promoting responsible farming, traceability system, etc.

Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung

Accountant

Experience: Accounting and Financial management

Degrees: Bachelor of Economics, Major accounting (2008, Hanoi, Vietnam)

Brief introduction:

Nhung has a background of accounting and more than 2 years working as an accountant and finance assistant. With her training and working experiences, she support Icafis in ensure that all financial and accountancy activities of the projects are carried out according to the ICAFIS’s rules and regulations and the Vietnamese law. Nhung also assists in providing general secretarial assistance to ICAFIS staff and Consultants.

Ta Thu Trang

Programme Assistant cum Administration

Experience: Administration and Financial Management, Community Development project 

Degrees: BA in International Relations (2008, Hanoi, Vietnam)

Brief introduction:

Trang is a programme assistant with 2.5 year working experience for international organization in community development projects. Trang was equipped with innovative skills and knowledge through a training of project management and extension methodology. With good English language skills, learning spirit, sustainability commitment and practical understanding of Vietnam fisheries management and fisheries resources protection in Vietnam, Trang effectively provides general supports activities of the office as well as support projects activities and management in term of administration and finance.
